M.A. Tahual was born in San diego, California on the 27th September 1976 to a Navajo mother and a Russian father. Orphaned from the age of 6 years he lived in Mexico City and so grew up with the traditions of the Mexican culture. He studied and worked in graphic arts from age 12 to 19 years and has worked since producing fine arts to the present day. Tahual began to exhibit in 1996 in Mexico City. In 2003 he moved to Europe and began exhibiting works in and around Catalonia. His paintings are in private collections in Mexico City, Tijuana, Berlin, Catalonia, Canary Islands and Chicago. Currently, part of his work is used on skateboard designs for a brand manufactured in his present home town of Palafrugell, Spain. He has also produced several large murals for private and public spaces. He is also creating designs based on 'bar-codes' for his own brand of t-shirts, which will result in the merchandising of his work. For the last two years Tahual has toured throughout Spain to soak up the many different cultures and traditions of the country and is currently working on a 50 painting series. The purpose of this project is to create several paintings expressing Iberian folklore particular to each individual region. So far 20 paintings have been completed on the Andulucian and Basque regions. When complete it is Tahual's intention to show the works in the places he found his inspiration from and eventually to bring all 50 paintings together for exhibitions in Madrid and Barcelona.

Tahual: San diego, CA, 27/9/76. Hijo de madre Navajo y padre ruso. Huérfano desde los 6 años. Mexicano por convicción y crianza. Estudió y trabajó en artes gráficas desde los 12 a los 19 años, y artes plásticas hasta la actualidad. Comienza a exponer en el 96 en el D.F. En el 2003 se traslada a Europa y sus obras empiezan a verse en exposiciones alrededor de Cataluña. Sus cuadros se encuentran repartidos entre México D.F., tijuana, Berlín, Cataluña, Canarias y Chicago. Actualmente, parte de su obra es utilizada como imagen para alguna marca de skateboard (KAFRE Patinetas), y también se ha atrevido con grandes murales y con pequeños logotipos para camisetas enmarcados dentro de la cultura del cannabis. También trabaja diseñando su propia marca de camisetas, que resultará en el merchandising de su obra. Los dos últimos años ha viajado por toda España para empaparse de la cultura y tradiciones de este pais, viaje que tiene como destino la finalidad de plasmar una serie de obras sobre el folclore ibérico.
